Connecting to the Wireless Network with Windows XP

Click Start >> Control Panel >> Network Connections >> Wireless Network Connection

Click the Change the order of preferred networks link.

The Wireless Network Connection Properties appears.

Select Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings (default);

Click Add under Preferred Networks.

A new window appears:

Fill in the provided SSID of the hidden access point (Example: "dlink");
Select Connect even if this network is not broadcasting;
Select Open Network Authentication (default);
Select Disabled Data encryption;
Click OK.

Click Continue anyway for disabled encryption.

Click OK to close Wireless Network Connection Properties.

Wait for Windows to establish connection to new network -- watch for bubble saying "Wireless Network Connection is now connected" to appear over the Wireless Network icon in the taskbar, or hover cursor over icon to see the status of the wireless connection.
